The following volunteer jobs are needed to keep Sea Biscuit going!


Medical/Animal Support

Assist in examining, provide first aid and caring for birds. 

Volunteers are expected to have a 2 hour per week commitment. Either 8-10 am or 4-6 pm.

Preparing meals, clean equipment assist with moving and returning birds to the wild after rehabilitation. Clean cages, empty and clean pools, feed the birds.

Rescue/Transport

After training, be put on our call list to rescue and transport birds to the shelter

Educational Outreach

Our educational outreach program is available to volunteers who would like to share their love of birds with visitors to the shelter as well as school and other public events.  It’s for individuals who would enjoy speaking about:

  • our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured birds
  • details about the particular bird species
  • how specific birds were injured
Office/Newsletters

Enter data, answer phones, newsletter support - typing, copying,
folding and distributing our newsletters.

Fundraising

Sea Biscuits efforts are supported by numerous donations, fundraising events, and some grants.You can assist in developing these critical efforts.

Landscape Maintenance

Cut grass, brush and vines, pull weeds, sweep walkways, empty trash cans.


No experience is necessary.
We train our volunteers at the shelter.
We welcome volunteers in all areas to help us fulfill our mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release wild birds.
